O’AHU, Hawai’i—Coming off a 15-stroke victory at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational the day before, the Arizona State women’s golf team took first place in the one-round Paradise Desert Classic, hosted by the University of Hawai’i.

The Sun Devils shot a team-total 23-over 311 to handily defeat the competition with a 21-shot lead over the second-place team of Osaka Gakuin.
Arizona State junior Giulia Molinaro took home individual medalist honors less than 24 hours after teammate Carlota Ciganda won the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational individually. Molinaro, who tied for first with Columbia’s Michelle Piyapattra, earned her first career tournament victory with a 3-over 75.
Ciganda finished in third place for the Sun Devils with a 4-over 76, while freshman Daniela Ordonez shot a 5-over 77 to help ASU take three out of the top-four spots on the leader board.
Arizona State next travels to Racho Bernadino, Calif. to compete in the Aztec Invitational, hosted by San Diego State, Mar. 20-22.
