FEDERAL WAY, Wash.—All-Americans Riley McCormick and Constantin Blaha take silver and bronze in the finals of the men’s 1-meter springboard championship at the 2011 Pac-10 Championships.
For the second year in a row, McCormick and Blaha finished second and third in the event. McCormick, who is the reigning Pac-10 Champion on the platform scored a 416.80 in the finals to finish a little over a dozen points shy of USC’s Harrison Jones. McCormick had finished first in the preliminaries. Blaha scored a 386.80 to take the bronze medal. Cameron Bradshaw also made the finals in the 1-meter, finishing in sixth place in the event.
In the women’s swimming events, Arizona State took sixth place in the 800 freestyle relay with the line up of Shannon Landgrebe, Cassie Morice, Caroline Kuczynski and Tristin Baxter. The ‘A’ relay touched in with an NCAA consideration time of 7:08.22 to earn 48 points for the Sun Devils. ASU’s previous best time in the 800 free was 7:14.28, surpassing the mark by over six seconds.
The Arizona State 200 medley relay was disqualified in the final round and the time was not recorded for points.
