NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. - The Arizona State men's golf team shot a 13-over par 363 in the second round of the Battle at the Beach in Newport Beach, Calif. and is in fifth place at 14-over par 714 (351-363). Junior Philip Francis carded a 1-under par 69 and is tied for sixth with a 1-under par 139 (70-69) to lead the Sun Devils, who sit 13 strokes behind the leader.

Senior Scott Pinckney is tied for 30th at 4-over par 144 (70-74) after shooting a 4-over par 74. Seniors Jesper Kennegard (77-69), who fired a 1-under par 69, Thomas Buran and James Byrne are all knotted in 41st at 6-over par 146. Buran (70-76) recorded a 6-over 76 and Byrne (71-75) shot a 5-over par 75. Senior Oscar Zetterwall carded a 7-over par 77 and is in a tie for 47th at 7-over par 147 (70-77).

San Diego remains the leader at 1-over par 701 (348-353), followed by Washington at 3-over par 703 (351-352) and UCLA at 6-over par 706 (353-353). Oregon State is in ninth with a 27-over par 727 (365-362).
