TEMPE, Ariz.--The Arizona State men's and women's swimming and diving teams fell to the No. 4/4 California Golden Bears, Friday, Jan. 21 at the Mona Plummer Aquatic Center. The men's team fell 135-152, while the women's team lost 117-182.

Junior Constantin Blaha took first in both the 3-meter and 1-meter dives by a wide margin. The Olympian and Pac-10 Champion scored a 326.70 and 369.00, respectively.  Senior Chris Pasanella finished in third in both events.

Kicking off the individual events, freshman Tristin Baxter continued to dominated in the 1000 free, where she ranks 23rd in the nation. Baxter was a good half minute faster than any other competitor, touching in at 9:51.53. Teammate Karima Chuk finished second giving ASU the one, two finish. Baxter also finished first in the 500 free with an NCAA B standard time of 4:50.12. 

Arizona State also took the top-two spots in the next race, the 200 free. Cassie Morrice recorded an NCAA B standard time of 1:48.85 to take first place, while Shannon Landgrebe finished second with 1:49.07. Landgebe's time also qualifies her for the NCAA B standard. 

Junior Rebecca Ejdervik, ranked sixth in the nation in the 100 breast, recorded another NCAA B standard in the event with a time of 1:01.96.

For the men, John Vivadelli finished in second place in the 200 fly touching in at 1:56.52 behind Marcin Tarczynski of Cal. Also finishing with the second fastest time in the 500 free was sophomore Caleb Veazey, clocking in with a time of 4:43.32.

The Sun Devils face the top-ranked Stanford women at 11 a.m. and the third-ranked men's team at 1 p.m.
