Junior Jesper Kennegard posted the ninth top-10 finish in his career as he tied for eighth at the Battle at the Beach held at Newport Coast, Calif. He shot a 5-under 208 which included a 5-under 66 in the final round Tuesday which included six birdies.
ASU finished sixth in the 14-team field as it shot a 9-over 1,074 (359-363-352). The Pelican Hill Golf Course (Ocean North) was the site of the tournament.
Kennegard fired rounds of 71 in each of the first two rounds before his 66 on Tuesday.
Scott Pinckney had a 2-under 211 (70-70-71) and tied for 11th. James Byrne tied for 42nd at 6-over 219 (72-73-74).
Thomas Buran tied for 51st at 8-over 221 (75-76-70), while Jin Song tied for 71st at 13-over 226 (73-77-76). Both Song and Buran made their Sun Devil debuts.
UCLA won the event at 10-over 1,055.
ASU will next compete in the USC Invitational on March 1-2 in Westlake Village, Calif.
