TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - Kimberly Brandon scored a career-high 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead Arizona State past Oregon State 49-46 Friday night in the Pac-10 opener for both teams.

The Sun Devils (9-2) used a 15-4 run in the second half to erase a 33-28 deficit and win their sixth straight overall. Sage Indendi, who was averaging 9.4 points a game, had a season-best 20 points on 8-of-10 shooting, including 4-for-4 from beyond the arc.

Arizona State's leading scorer, Dymond Simon, was held to five points until she hit two 3-pointers during the decisive run that gave the Sun Devils a 43-37 lead with 4:46 left. Simon finished the night with 13 points on 5-for-14 shooting.

The Beavers' zone defense held Arizona State to 35 percent shooting, 20-of-57 from the field, and kept Oregon State in the game. Alyssa Martin added 16 points for Oregon State (7-5) but missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer that would have forced overtime.

Indendi's fourth 3-pointer gave the Beavers a 31-26 advantage with 11:49 remaining, capping an 8-0 run.

Oregon State is 4-5 since its 3-0 start.

In the first half, the Beaver zone, which is holding teams to a conference-best 52 points a game, kept Arizona State from getting into its offense, shooting 8-for-26 from the field. The teams went more than four minutes without scoring at one point and were tied at 21 at the break.
