La Quinta, Calif.- The men's golf team is in fifth place after shooting a 10-over par 298 in the second round of The Prestige at PGA West in La Quinta, Calif. The Sun Devils are at 12-over par 588 (290-298) and trail the leader by nine strokes.

Senior Thomas Buran is tied for sixth in the individual standings at 2-under par 142 (68-74) after firing a 2-over par 74 in the second day, and senior Jesper Kennegard shot an even-par 72 to remain at 1-under par 143 (71-72), but fell two spots to tenth place. Senior Scott Pinckney improved to 4-over par 148 (75-73) with a 1-over par 73 and moved into a tied for 21st, and junior Philip Francis is in a tie for 60th at 11-over par 155 (76-79) after recording a 7-over par 79. Junior Spencer Fletcher did not compete in the second round after shooting a 5-over par 77.

While the University of California-Berkeley retained its top spot on the leaderboard at 1-under par 575 (286-289), Stanford shot a 7-under par 281 to move into a tie with the Golden Bears at 1-under par 575 (294-281). Washington is in third with a 4-over par 580 (294-286) and Oregon is in a tie for seventh at 17-over par 593 (295-298).
