Kelcy McKenna finished her match first, ousting Sofia Novak (6-4, 6-2) in the No. 1 slot. In the No. 3 position, newcomer Hannah James made her mark, winning her first-ever dual match as a Sun Devil by beating Asagi Onaga (6-4, 6-3). Sianna Simmons was the next Sun Devils finisher as battled it out with Jordan Dockendorf and came out on top (7-6, 7-5) for a win in the No. 5 position.
Senior Amanda Martin clinched the match for the Devils by routing Erica Cano (6-2, 7-5) to win in the No. 6 slot. The Sun Devils split the final two matches, with Ashlee Brown falling to Annabelle Giedden in the No. 4 slot and Nadia Abdala getting the best of Natalia Lozano in the No. 2 position.
The doubles matches were not played. Tomorrow, the Arizona State Sun Devils take on UC Davis at the Whiteman Tennis Center at noon.
