The sixth-ranked women's water polo team took down No. 19 CS East Bay 20-2 March 6 at the Cal Lutheran Invitational in Thousand Oaks, Calif. It was the second consecutive win for the Sun Devils (8-5, 0-0), who were led by freshman center Shannon Haas' five goals.
ASU scored four goals in the first quarter and never trailed in the game. After allowing two CS East Bay goals in the second frame, the Sun Devils outscored the Pioneers 11-0 in the second half and cruised to an 18-goal win.
Sophomore center Bella Morrison and freshman attacker Morgan Leech each found the back of the net for the first time this season. Junior attacker Sarah Harris recorded a hat trick, an assist and a steal, and Nikki Unbehaun added a pair of scores. Sophomore goalie Dana Harvey collected six saves and added three assists in four quarters of play.
The Sun Devils face Whittier at 2:45 p.m. (PST) March 6 at Samuelson Aquatic Center in Thousand Oaks, Calif.
