The Arizona State University women's tennis team has cancelled their tennis match against Texas Longhorns due to inclement weather. The rains subsided midday in Tempe but the courts would not be playable for some time causing the match to be cancelled. The Sun Devils also had to cancel a match against Saint Mary's this season due to rain.
"In my 26 years here, this is the most rain we have had," said head coach Sheila McInerney. "I have never had two rainouts at home in a season before. It's unfortunate but Texas had to make their flight."
The team opens Pac-10 play this weekend in the Pacific Northwest as they will travel to Washington and Washington State. Both schools have indoor playing facilities.
