TEMPE - Cj Navarro improved her personal best in the discus and Sarah Stevens regionally qualified in a pair of events as the Arizona State University track and field team opened competition at the UCSD Triton Invitational in La Jolla, Calif., on Friday night. Several throwers on the Sun Devil roster made the trip to the San Diego area for the two day competition that opened with the women's hammer and the women's discus.

In the first event, the hammer, Stevens was seventh overall and Navarro was 19th with throws of 56.72m (186-1) and 48.45m (158-11), respectively. Only Stevens met the regional standard in the event.
