TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) -Rihards Kuksiks and Jamelle McMillan each had 12 points as Arizona State defeated San Diego State 55-52 on Saturday despite blowing most of an 18-point lead in the final 11 minutes.

ASU senior point guard Derek Glasser had five assists to tie Bobby Thompson for the school's all-time lead, with 454.

Freshman Chase Tapley scored 17 for the Aztecs (8-3), who had their five-game winning streak snapped. San Diego State lost for the first time in three games against Arizona's Division I schools, having defeated Northern Arizona and Arizona by a combined 58 points.

The Sun Devils are now 10-1 when Herb Sendek has at least five full days in between games the the past three seasons, as ASU last played on Dec. 12, a 76-34 win over Delaware State.

Derek Glasser, who hit two free throws with 12 seconds left to give ASU the three-point lead, is is shooting 88.2 percent from the free throw line (45-of-51) this year and 227-of-272 (.835) from the free throw line in his 109-game career, the top mark in ASU history. He is 19-of-20 (.950) from the free throw line in the past five games.

ASU is now 34-9 (.791) at home in the past three seasons, including a 15-5 mark in 2007-08 that set the ASU mark for total home wins. ASU is 19-4 (.826) the past two seasons at home, including 7-1 this season.

Ty Abbott tied a season-high vs. San Diego State with 11 points (also vs. USF on Nov. 20). When Abbott scores in double digits, ASU is 26-6 (.813).

ASU is now 19-13 (.594) in the past three seasons in 10 points or less games after going 4-17 in Herb Sendek's first year. Also, in In ASU's first season under Herb Sendek, it was 3-12 in two-possession games (six points or less), in the past three seasons it is 13-8 (7-4 past two seasons).
