The second-ranked men's golf team posted a 13-over par 301 and is in seventh place after the first round of the 2009 Isleworth Collegiate Invitational. Senior Knut Borsheim, who is tied for seventh individually, led the way for the Sun Devils with a 2-under par 70.
Junior Scott Pinckney carded a 3-over par 75 and is tied for 23rd, while fellow classmate Jesper Kennegard shot a 5-over par 77 and is tied for 37th. Senior Braxton Marquez shot a 7-over par 79 and ended the day tied for 47th, and senior Tristan Bierenbroodspot, who tied for 64th, shot a 9-over par 81.
No. 5 Stanford is in the lead after shooting a 1-over par 289, followed by No. 20 TCU at 2-over par 290 and No. 1 Oklahoma State at 3-over par 291. Steve Ziegler of Stanford, Peter Uihlein of Oklahoma State and Tim McKenney of Florida are tied for first place at 4-under par 68.
