IRVINE, Calif. - The No. 10 Arizona State University water polo team lost to No. 1 USC 13-4 in the UC Irvine Invitational on Saturday. The Sun Devils went 1-1 on the day to finish second in Bracket A of the tournament, and they are now 8-4 on the season while the Trojans improved to 9-0.

Senior Addison McGrath and junior Kelly Phelps scored two goals each in the game. It was McGrath's 10th multiple-goal game of the season. Freshman goalie Dana Harvey recorded nine saves for the Devils.

USC took a 4-0 lead after the first quarter, and then extended the lead to 8-3 at the half. The Trojans again outscored the Sun Devils 4-0 in the third quarter to move ahead by nine, and each team scored one goal apiece in the final period to complete the scoring.

The Sun Devils will continue play at the UC Irvine Invitational with two more games on Sunday, beginning with a match-up against No. 5 California at 8 a.m. PT.
