Regional Game Five Quotes
Bob Coolen
Opening statement:
"ASU has way too much firepower for us. They have an amazing squad one through nine and one of the best pitchers that we've seen all year. Which resulted in the same story as yesterday, just two runs shorter."
On the challenge of overcoming ASU:
"Kate [Robinson] was frustrated and threw some pitches that played to the strength of some of the hitters. Jess [Morton] came in and settled down until she started leaving them hanging. Her change-up for a grand slam was left up and their girl knew just how to adjust hit it."
Experience of this weekend:
"Last year's success was amazing, but it put a bull's eye on us and we're not the same team. We lost some key players that you can't overcome and be the same team. We did what we had to do to get here and a lot of the players picked it up and we didn't bow down. I give credit to the seniors and we started hitting the ball well which was indicative of how we were last year."

On preparing to face Katie Burkhart:
"We didn't want to have the same outcome as yesterday so we tried to take the positives from yesterday and bring them more into today. She was still as effective though, she kept the score at zero and that's what she's out there to do."
On the implications for next season:
"We've taken our experience and built on it and when we regain some of our players next year, we're looking forward to it because we know we can be a great team. It's hard when you have one goal in mind and you don't reach it, but in terms of experience and what we'll take into next year, it's not a lost cause."
