Tucson, Ariz. - The Arizona State University women's golf team finished in fifth place at the Wildcat Invitational in Tucson, Ariz. ASU shot a 49-over 901 (287-316-298), 17 strokes off tournament winner Oklahoma State. The Cowgirls shot a 32-over 884.
Leading the Sun Devils, junior All-American Azahara Munoz shot an 8-over 221 (72-73-76) to tie for eighth place. Sophomore Juliana Murcia tied for 16th, shooting an 11-over 224 (70-79-75) for the tournament. Junior All-American Jennifer Osborn shot a 14-over 227 (71-84-72) to tie for 24th. Sophomore All-American Anna Nordqvist carded a 16-over 229 (74-80-75) for the tournament to tie for 34th. Graduate Brooke Todare rounded out the line-up, shooting a 54-over 267 (90-88-89) to finish in 91st.
Senior Camila Sola, playing as an individual, shot a 37-over 250 (82-84-84) to finish in 81st. Sophomore Liisa Kelo, also playing as an individual, finished in 90th place after shooting a 51-over 264 (86-92-86).
Duke's Amanda Blumenherst held the lead the entire tournament to win individual medalist honors. Blumenherst shot an even-par 213 to finish in first place.
The Wildcat invitational, hosted by the University of Arizona, is held at the par-71, 6,166-yard Arizona National Golf Course.
