, - The No. 19 ASU Women's Tennis Team pulled off a great win after an early deficit on Saturday afternoon, ousting the 49ers 6-1 at the . The Sun Devils improved to 6-0 on the season while fell to 3-4 overall.

The Devils were forced to make a switch in the doubles line-up after sophomore Nadia Abdala pulled out with an injury, moving junior Laila Abdala to the No. 3 spot to pair up with freshman Lauren Megale. Freshmen Kelcy McKenna and Micaela Hein increased their dual match winning streak to four wins on the season by pulling off a convincing win at the No. 2 spot over Steph Jeanes and Jessica Weeks 8-2. The doubles point was split when 's Hannah Grady and Steph Bengson beat seniors Jessica Leitch and Vendula Pilecka 8-2. At No. 3, the Devils battled hard but fell short in the last game, losing 9-7 in a nail-biter to Deborah Armstrong and Lisa Sutton.

The team showed a lot of composure after coming out of the locker room and jumped to early leads on the first four courts and the others followed suite. McKenna scored the first point for the Devils, knocking off Hannah Grady 6-2 6-3. The team fed off each other's energy and soon started closing out their matches with everyone pulling off straight set victories.

"Even though we lost the doubles point we were still confident that we would win. We just put it behind us as soon as we got into the locker room and pumped each other up for singles. We play with a lot of heart and we fight until the end so we always had that belief in each other," Hein said after the match.

The Sun Devils kick off their Pac-10 play next weekend as they host UCLA on Friday, February 22 at 1:30 p.m. and USC on Saturday, February 23 at noon at the .
