Palos Verdes, Calif. - The second-ranked Arizona State women's golf team jumped into fourth place after the second round of the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge in Palos Verdes, Calif. ASU shot a 12-over 296 for a two round total of 30-over 598 (302-296) to move up four spots from round one. USC moved into first place after shooting a two day total of 18-over 586.
Individually, junior All-American Azahara Munoz leads the Sun Devils after shooting even par on the day for a two-round total of 4-over 146 (75-71) to tie for eighth. Sophomore All-American Anna Nordqvist posted a two-round total of 5-over 147 (72-75) to tie for 12th. Sophomore Juliana Murcia is tied for 24th after shooting a 9-over 151(75-76) for two rounds. Junior All-American Jennifer Osborn shot a two-day total of 13-over 155 (81-74) to tie for 43rd. Sophomore Liisa Kelo is tied for 75th, posting a two-round score of 22-over 164 (80-84). Freshman Ashley Smith, playing as an individual, is currently in 82nd after shooting 28-over 170.
Leading the competition for the second day in a row is Pepperdine's Taylor Karle at 1-under.
The third round of the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge concludes tomorrow at the par-71, 5,912-yard Palos Veredes Golf Club in Palos Verdes, Calif.
