WESTWOOD, Calif. - Three UCLA Bruin home runs doomed the efforts of the No. 1 ASU Softball team Friday afternoon as the fourth-ranked Bruins topped ASU 5-0 in Westwood at Easton Stadium. The loss is only the second shutout of the Sun Devils this season, both against ranked Pac-10 opponents. ASU now stands at 53-3 overall and 15-2 in conference play as UCLA increases to 43-5 overall and 15-2 in the Pac-10.

UCLA came out firing in the second inning as freshman GiOnna DiSalvatore tore a 1-2 solo shot deep to right field for her third home run of the season giving the Bruins the 1-0 edge after two complete. UCLA added another solo shot in the third from Amanda Kamekona's 1-2 blast to left center for her ninth home run of the year.

The Bruins weren't done yet though as they rallied up in the fifth inning with two singles to put runners on first and second before Amanda Kamekona hit her second home run of the day and tenth of the year taking a 3-1 pitch way deep to right to plate three more and put the nail in the coffin with a 5-0 lead.

While Kaitlin Cochran went 2-for-4 with two doubles on the day, the rest of the Sun Devil offense couldn't get it done as Anjelica Selden was flawless for the Bruins pitching the complete game shutout, giving up only four hits and striking out eight en route to her 22nd win on the season and UCLA's 43rd overall.

The Sun Devils will return to Easton Stadium tomorrow for one last head-to-head match-up with the Bruins to wrap their conference series and decide the series, and possibly Pac-10 winner. Game time is noon PT in Westwood, Calif.
