Box Score

TEMPE, Ariz. - Katie Burkhart collected two wins on the night with 15 strikeouts as the Sun Devil offense ran full-throttle again with Krista Donnenwirth, Kristen Miller and Mindy Cowles all going long as ASU took 8-4 and 5-1 wins from the Oregon State Beavers Friday night in Tempe. The wins put ASU at 50-3 overall and 12-1 in the Pac-10 as OSU falls to 26-23 and 4-8 in conference play.

In the resumed game, the Sun Devils went into the seventh inning ahead 6-4 and immediately sparked the offense against the Beavers as a lead-off hit by Krista Donnenwirth was brought home by Kristen Miller's 11th home run of the season as she took one deep to right center to put the score at it's final resting place of 8-4 as Katie Burkhart closed out the game for her 28th win of the season.

The Beavers came out strong in the 7 p.m. game though as they kept the Sun Devils off the board until the fourth inning where Krista Donnenwirth dug in to break the OSU no-hitter as she cracked a 2-1 pitch deep to right center for her 14th home run of the season, giving ASU the 1-0 edge.

After a solid fifth inning by the Beavers, ASU broke open the game in the sixth rattling off four runs on six hits, with a two-RBI home run to centerfield from Mindy Cowles for her 12th long ball of the season. The Beaver struck back in the top of the seventh though, putting an unearned run on the board off an errant Sun Devil throw.

Katie Burkhart was stellar in the outing as she allowed only one hit and struck out 14, en route to her 29th win of the season.

The Sun Devils will continue their Pac-10 home slate tomorrow as they host the Oregon Ducks in Tempe at Farrington Stadium at 7 p.m.
