In front of a crowd of 1,931, the third largest attendance in Sun Devil gymnastics history, the Arizona State women's gymnastics team had a season-best score of 195.625. Even with the best score of the season, the No. 20 Sun Devils fell to the third ranked Utah Utes 196.7-195.625. Nicole Harris had a season-best all-around score of 39.35. Tiana Jean and Francesca Mercurio also competed in the all-around with scores of 38.55 and 37.675 respectively.

In the first rotation, the Sun Devils hit all their routines, including an exhibition, on vault to compile a season-high team score of 48.9. Freshman Mary Atkinson led the Sun Devils with a career-best 9.825. Three Sun Devils had scores of 9.775, Mercurio, Beaté Jones and Harris. The score of 9.775 marked Mercurio's career-best. Ashlee Hinkle hit her routine for a solid 9.75. Tiana Jean also had a career-best vault with a 9.7. Utah recorded a 49.050.

Moving to bars in the second rotation, the Sun Devils again recorded six hits to score a season-best 48.850. Harris led the Devils. She tied her season-best score of 9.875 after finishing her clean routine by sticking her landing. Jean was the next highest scoring Sun Devil. The junior scored a 9.8. Atkinson and Tia Orlando each recorded scores of 9.750. Atkinson's score marked a career-best for the freshman. Jones and Mercurio each had scores of 9.675 with Jones' score being her career best. The Utes totaled a 49.350.

The Sun Devils earned a season-best team score on beam, with a total of 49.175. Harris again led the team with a season-best 9.875. Her score is also the highest beam score by a Sun Devil this season. Jean and Orlando each had scores of 9.85, marking a career-high for both of the juniors. Hinkle also had a solid score for the Sun Devils with a 9.825. Sophomore Kaitlynn Bormann hit her routine with a 9.775. The Utes had a score of 49.2.

On floor, the Sun Devils earned a score of 48.7. Harris again led the team with a 9.825. Freshman Brittany Schuett scored a career-best 9.8. Jones was the next highest scoring Devil, tying her career-best with a 9.775. Hinkle hit her routine with a 9.75. Mercurio scored a 9.55 on floor. Utah had a 49.175 on floor.

The Sun Devils host the No. 11 Oregon State Beavers Wednesday January 30 at Wells Fargo Arena. The meet begins at 7:00 p.m.
