NCAA WOMEN'S COLLEGE WORLD SERIES
May 31-June 6, 2007
ASA Hall of Fame Stadium
Game 2: Northwestern 2, 0
HEAD COACH Clint Myers
On what caused his team to lose:
"Pitching is the name of the game. She (Eileen Canney) pitched an outstanding game. We couldn't stay off the rise ball. As long as we kept swinging she kept throwing it, and I take my hat off to her. She did an outstanding job."
On his team needing to regroup:
"We were in this exact same spot last year. We opened up with and Cat (Osterman) really stuck it (to us). We came out and beat a really good team and we played where if we make one play we are playing instead of . It is a character builder. We have five seniors and we talked about what they want to remember. They are all an intricate part of our team. This is the time where the best rise to the top, and that is what we have to do. It is time to stop talking about it and start doing it."
JUNIOR PITCHER Katie Burkhart On her pitching performance:"There were probably a couple of hits that were mistake pitches here and there. It wasn't my best day. The solo home run was not a mistake by me. It was down and she came through and got it. Hats off to her for that one."
SOPHOMORE OUTFIELDER Kaitlin Cochran On what caused her to struggle at the plate:"It was hard for us to lay off the rise ball. I think it was just one of those days where things were just not clicking. I think we will be able to come out Saturday against DePaul and take it to them."
