Final Stats

TUCSON, Ariz. - Despite having the top two finishers in the all-around, the Arizona State women's gymnastics team fell to No. 13 Arizona 195.000-193.975 before a crowd of 1,365 at McKale Center in Tucson. Sophomore Nicole Harris won her second all-around competition of the season with a 39.125. Senior Cassandra Jusino finished second with a 39.000. Senior April Boone also competed in the all-around, finishing with a 37.800.

The Sun Devils started out shaky on bars. Having to count a fall, the Sun Devils scored a 48.225. Harris took first in the event, tying her season-high 9.85. Sophomore Tiana Jean tallied a season-high as well with a 9.75. Ashley Toner scored her career-high on bars with a 9.7. The Wildcats took first on bars with a 48.675.

Taking vault in the next rotation, the Sun Devils compiled a 48.725. Boone tied for second with a 9.825 with Arizona's Karin Wurm and Jamie Holton. Ashlee Hinkle had the next highest score for the Sun Devils, tying her season-high 9.8. All-arounders Harris and Jusino recorded 9.75 and 9.7, respectively. Arizona won the vault with a 49.025.

With Lauren Powell out with a torn ACL, the Devils only competed five athletes on floor. The Devils scored a 48.200 after having to count Boone's fall. Jusino led the way with a solid 9.85 to tie for first with Arizona's Wurm and Holton. Hinkle finished close behind with a season-high 9.825. Jean raised her career-high set at UNO's Classic to a 9.75. Harris also had a solid routine and scored a 9.675. Her score would have been a tenth higher; however, she was penalized for stepping out of bounds. Arizona scored 48.925 to win the event.

The Sun Devils finished the meet on beam, recording a 48.825 to win the event. Hinkle took first in the event with a season-high 9.875. Harris followed, taking second with a 9.85. Jusino tied for fourth with a 9.775 and Boone recorded 9.725. Toner also posted a 9.6. Freshman Kaitlynn Bormann tied her career-high in an exhibition with a 9.8. Arizona scored a 48.375 in the event.

The Sun Devils host Washington next Friday, March 2nd in the Alumni Meet. The ASU men's club team will also be competing against Air Force and Temple. The meet will also honor former men's gymnastics head coach, Don Robinson. The competition begins at 7 p.m. MT.
