Going into the final round of the Illini Invitational, the ASU Men's golf team knew they would have a steep hill to climb. Following a tough three round battle they were left unsatisfied after shooting a 47-over 877 (293-292-302). A tough final round saw all five Sun Devils shoot over par in the overcast conditions.
Jesper Kennegard (73-75-74) and James Byrne 16-over 226 (74-74-78) for a 43rd place tie and Cameron Edens was 53rd with a 21-over 231 (81-76-74).
Oklahoma State won the tournament by seven strokes shooting a 17-over 857 (292-275-290).
ASU will play next at the Alister McKenzie Invitational October 8-9 in Oakland, California.
