TEMPE, Ariz. - Arizona State's 22-game home win streak was brought to an end on the final day of the regular season, as Arizona came from behind to grab a 14-5 win over the Sun Devils in front of 3,013 at Winkles Field-Packard Stadium at Brock Ballpark. With the series and the conference title already wrapped up, head coach Pat Murphy rested many of his regulars, including Brett Wallace and Ike Davis. The loss drops ASU 43-13, 19-5 in the Pac-10. The 19 conference wins ties a conference record for most wins since the two Pac-10 divisions merged in 1999. The Sun Devils join Stanford (1999) and Oregon State (2005) as Pac-10 teams with 19 conference wins in a season.
Brian Flores got the start for ASU, lasting four innings allowing three runs on five hits with three strikeouts. CJ Retherford threw 2.2 innings, allowing five runs, three earned, on three hits. Retherford took the loss, dropping his record to 2-2.
Arizona scored off Flores in the first to take a 1-0 lead, then added two more on a two-run homer by C.J. Ziegler in the third. The Devils would grab the lead in the fifth, scoring five times to grab a 5-3 lead. Ryan Sontag had an RBI single, and Raoul Torrez brought two home with a single to right. Greg Bordes knocked in another with a single to right.
The Cats took the lead back in the seventh, scoring nine times off CJ Retherford, Scott Mueller and Joey Parigi with two gone. Eight of those runs were team unearned runs.

The Sun Devils will now wait until Sunday afternoon at 12:15 p.m. to find out if they will host a regional in the NCAA Tournament. The entire 64-team field will be announced Monday morning at 9:30 on ESPN.
