TEMPE, Ariz. - The No. 11 Arizona State University water polo rebounded from a tough loss one night earlier to score a pair of victories to win its side of the bracket on the first day of the ASU Invitational Saturday at the Mona Plummer Aquatic Center in Tempe. In the third, the Sun Devils added another four goals to take a 10-4 lead into the final quarter of play where both teams scored twice for the final 12-6 margin.

Bower scored a hat trick to pace the offense while Hedley added two scores to give both players the team lead in goals scored on the day with five each. Eight different Sun Devils scored with Lawlor scoring twice and solo goals coming from Doud, Gronow, Kelly Phelps, Stepp and Williams. In the cage, Wallace again came up big, making 14 saves, including one five-meter penalty shot while also nearly making another penalty save.
