FULLERTON, Calif. - Costly errors and slow offense Friday morning cost the No. 2 Sun Devil Softball team their second game in the 2007 Judi Garman Classic as they fell 6-1 to Fresno State. The loss is ASU's third, putting them at 28-3 for the year with one more game to go Friday afternoon against #16 Louisiana-Lafayette.

The Sun Devil offense started out looking like themselves in the top of the first as a lead-off double from Jackie Vasquez was followed with a single from Kaitlin Cochran, but ASU was unable to capitalize on the inning as they were followed with three straight strikeouts.

Fresno State rattled off two hits as well in the bottom the inning, but two Sun Devil errors cost ASU three runs, pushing FSU ahead 3-0. The Bulldogs weren't finished yet though and in the second inning they added two more runs off of two more hits and another error on ASU's behalf.

ASU's only run on the day came in the third as Kaitlin Cochran took the first pitch she saw to left center for a stand-up double. Following suit, Mindy Cowles hit a double to left as well, scoring Cochran.

Two hits in the sixth gave Fresno their sixth run, as ASU was unable to get anything else across on the day, stranding 12 on base and striking out 13 times, a season-high for Bulldog pitcher Robin Mackin.

The No. 2 Sun Devils return to action again tonight as they gear up to take on the #16 Louisiana-Lafayette Ragun' Cajuns as the 2007 Judi Garman Classic rolls on.
