TEMPE, Ariz. - Thanks to some timely hitting and a strong effort on the hill by Josh Satow, the Sun Devils were able to snap their two-game losing streak with a 9-6 win over the Kansas State Wildcats. 2,551 fans at Winkles Field-Packard Stadium at Brock Ballpark saw the Devils improve their record to 14-7.

Ike Davis got the Devils on the board in the bottom of the first, doubling to center to score Andrew Romine and Tim Smith. Kansas State tied it up in the third off Satow, but ASU retook the lead after a passed ball allowed Eric Sogard to score from third. Brett Wallace made it 5-2 ASU in the fourth with a two-run home run down the left field line. The Sun Devils would add two more in the fifth to push the lead to 7-2.

Ike Davis and Kiel Roling each knocked in a run in the sixth to put Arizona State up 9-2, but the Wildcats would plate two unearned runs in the seventh to make it 9-4. Joey Parigi would take over for Satow in the seventh, throwing the final 2.1 innings. Parigi allowed two runs and struck out three.

Starter Josh Satow lasted 6.2 innings, allowing four runs, two earned, on seven hits while striking out five. He picked the win to improve to 5-1 on the season.

Ike Davis went 3-3 with three RBI and two walks, while Eric Sogard also had two hits.

The Devils and Wildcats will finish out the brief two-game series tomorrow night at 7 p.m. from Winkles Field-Packard Stadium at Brock Ballpark.
