TEMPE, Ariz. - Led by Megan Elliott's four-hit complete game shutout, the No. 3 Sun Devil Softball team added another win to their record Wednesday afternoon as they beat Creighton 4-0 at home for Sparky's Kids to College Day. ASU is now 22-2 on the season and 6-2 all-time against the Creighton Jays.

The Sun Devils took the lead in the bottom of the third with a single from senior, Heidi Knabe being brought around to score by an RBI single to third base from Jackie Vasquez.

The Sun Devils never looked back as they dug in to add three more runs in the fifth inning with Jessica Mapes and Kaitlin Cochran both hitting singles while a Creighton error to put Jackie Vasquez on loaded the bases for clean-up hitter Bianca Cruz. Cruz didn't disappoint as she smoked a single through the left side to plate Mapes. With the bases still loaded, Caylyn Carlson drew a walk to bring one home before Rhiannon Baca's sac fly to right field brought in another leaving the score at 4-0.

Elliott cruised through the rest of the game tallying a final line of four hits and eight strikeouts on the day, keeping Creighton's offense silent.

ASU will now gear up for their fourth home tournament of the year as they host the Pac-10 vs. Big XII Tournament this weekend, which will see the Pac-10's Washington and ASU face off against the Big XII's Missouri and Texas Tech Friday, March 9 through Sunday, March 12. All games will be held at Farrington Stadium.
