TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - Marcel Jones scored 19 points and had 12 rebounds as Oregon State defeated Arizona State 67-59 Saturday, snapping a four-game losing streak.
Sasa Cuic added 20 points for the Beavers (9-9, 1-4 Pac-10), who overcame an eight-point second half deficit to earn their first victory at Wells Fargo Arena since 1998.
Jeff Pendergraph scored 19 points and pulled down 10 boards and Christian Polk and Derek Glasser added 10 points apiece for ASU, who had a season-low 10 turnovers.
Pendergraph, just a sophomore, is averaging 15.0 points and 10.6 rebounds in the past nine games. At 13.4 points and 9.3 rebounds per game, he is trying to become the first Sun Devil to average a double-double since Mark Landsberger in 1976-77 (17.2 points and 14.4 rebounds).
In the past four games, he is 31-of-38 (.816) from the floor.
Both teams struggled to score, especially from long range. Oregon State shot 26.3 percent from 3-point range and ASU hit only 18.2 percent from beyond the arc.
ASU had 23 offensive rebounds, its most since it had 25 vs. Valparaiso on Dec. 29, 2004, a span of the past 65 games. It marked the most offensive rebounds for ASU in a Pac-10 game since it had 24 at Washington on Jan. 11, 2001, in a 70-68 overtime loss.
The Sun Devils led 33-27 at halftime, their first lead at intermission in eight games. But after making 12 of their first 24 shots from the floor, they hit only 11-of-41 the rest of the way. Arizona State missed 14 straight shots in the final minutes.
The Sun Devils held the Beavers without a point for a span of 6:33 that ended early in the second half. But the Sun Devils couldn't put Oregon State away because they made only 2-of-18 shots from the floor during the same stretch.
Trailing 35-27 early in the second half, the Beavers went on a 13-4 run to take a 40-37 lead with 12:51 remaining. Arizona State tied the game at 42-42 on Pendergraph's basket with 9:26 to play, but the Beavers went on a 10-4 run to take their biggest lead at 52-46 with 5:07 remaining.
