Palm Desert, Calif. - Led by a spectacular second place finish by Niklas Lemke, the Arizona State University men's golf team placed third at the Pac-10 Championships held in Palm Desert, Calif. April 24-26. ASU finished with a four round total of 1437 for a score of 17-over at the Canyons Course at Bighorn Golf Club (par-71, 7,009).
Tournament champion UCLA finished with an even-par 1420. UCLA's Daniel Im received individualist honors with a 7-under 277.
Sun Devil Niklas Lemke finished in second place, one stroke off the first place finisher, with a 6-under 278. Alejandro Canizares tied for fourth after shooting a 2-under 282. Lenny Park shot a 5-over 289 to tie for 15th. Benjamin Alvarado Holley shot a 7-over 291 to tie for 21st. Phil Telliard tied for 35th after shooting a 13-over 297. Rounding out the Sun Devils, Erik Coover shot a 35-over 319.
Next up, ASU travels to Sunriver, Ore. to compete in the NCAA Championship May 31-June 3.
