Three freshmen are playing for the men's golf team in Las Vegas this weekend, as ASU is tied for 11th after the first round at 311.
Niklas Lemke (tied for 21st) leads ASU with a 76 while freshman Benjamin Alvarado is tied for 32nd at 77. Senior Alejandro Canizares is tied for 42nd with a 78 while freshmen Erik Coover (80) and Steele DeWald shot an 82.
The 15 teams will play 18 holes on Saturday and Sunday.UNLV and Georgia lead the field, played at Southern Highlands, with a 295.
