The Arizona State men's golf team slipped into ninth place after the second round of the 2006 Puerto Rico Classic held at the par 72, 6,945-yard River Course at the Westin Rio Mar Country Club in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico. ASU shot a nine-over 585 to tie with North Carolina State and Duke for the ninth spot. Oklahoma State moved into first place.

After winning last year's Puerto Rico Classic, Sun Devil senior Alejandro Canizares is currently tied for ninth place after shooting a two-under 142. Freshman Benjamin Alvarado Holley and Senior Lenny Park are tied for 34th after shooting a two-over 146. Junior Niklas Lemke shot a seven-over 151 to tie for 64th and Freshman Ryan Kelley shot a 12-over 156 to tie for 81st.

Final round play will continue on Tuesday.
