TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) -Junior Antwi Atuahene scored 11 points and had five assists to lead five players in double figures as Arizona State beat Cal State San Bernardino 69-52 Wednesday night to give new coach Herb Sendek his first victory.

Steve Jones added 12 points while Jerren Shipp had 11 points, five rebounds and four assists for the Sun Devils (1-1).

Lance Ortiz led San Bernardino (0-1) with 11 points and four assists.

Arizona State, ahead 37-21 at halftime, scored the first 10 points of the second half and led by as many as 35.

The Sun Devils, who made just 10 of 36 from beyond the 3-point line in Monday night's 75-71 loss to Northern Arizona, was 10 of 20 on Wednesday night.

Atuahene scored five points during a 12-0 run late in the first half that helped his team take control. Jeff Pendergraph had eight points and eight rebounds in the first half.

Jones, the son of former Oregon star and current announcer Steve "Snapper" Jones, scored all his points in the second half, hitting a trio of 3-pointers in a 99-second span that gave Arizona State a 56-26 lead with 12:36 to play.

NOTES: Sophomore Jeff Pendergraph had eight points and eight boards in the first half, but Coach Sendek emptied his bench in the second half as he played just nine minutes...ASU'S four freshmen notched 74 minutes...ASU next plays Portland State on Saturday, Nov. 18, at 2 p.m. MT...ASU put five players in double figures for the first time since Feb. 4, 2006, in a 69-66 win at USC...ASU had 11 steals...ASU shot 12-of-19 (.632) in the second half from the field.
