TEMPE, Ariz. - The Arizona State University soccer team dropped its second tough home match in a row, this time suffering a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Oregon in a Pac-10 match played Sunday at Sun Devil Soccer Stadium in Tempe. The loss dropped the Sun Devils to 5-5-2 overall on the year and 0-2-0 in the Pac-10 while the visiting Ducks improved to 8-5-0 overall and 2-0-0 in the conference.

With both teams looking to send players forward on the attack, neither was able to score until the 42nd minute of play when UO tallied the lone goal of the match. Nicole Dobrzynski carried the ball into the box before sending a pass to Nicole Garbin, who turned and fired a shot at the ASU goal. Keeper Kim Bingham dove to block the attempt, but the ball hit off her hands and carried into the back of the net for Garbin's seventh of the year.

From there, both teams fought for opportunities with neither able to score. Bingham recorded five saves on the day, including a pair of diving stops to keep the Sun Devils with in one goal while her counterpart, Jessie Chatfield, recorded two saves in the match for the Ducks.

Offensively, both Courtney Crane and Lauren Niblett recorded a pair of shots with Kylla Sjoman, Brittney Doty and Rachel Newell each taking one shot. UO outshot ASU, 10-7, but the Sun Devils had an advantage in corner kicks, taking five to the Ducks' two.

A tough road swing to northern California awaits the Sun Devils next weekend as ASU heads to the Bay Area for a pair of Pac-10 matches. The Sun Devils open the weekend at Stanford Friday night in a 7:30 p.m. contest before closing the trip in a noon match at No. 11 California on Sunday.
