The Arizona State men's golf team is currently in third place after the second round of the PING-Arizona Intercollegiate was suspended due to darkness with a 14-under par. ASU shot an 11-under par 273 in the first round and was in second place at the conclusion of the first round.
Arizona, the host of the competition, is holding down the first place spot with a 23-under par before play was suspended.
Sun Devil Alejandro Canizares, last year's tournament champion, currently leads ASU with a seven-under par and is currently tied for second place. Canizares shot a 67 after round one.
Lenny Park and Charly Simon are both tied for 15th after finishing on hole 16 for round two. They shot a 71 and a 67 respectively. Benjamin Alvarado shot a 70 in the first round and is currently tied for 29th with a one-over par. Niklas Lemke is tied for 38th after shooting a 69 for the first round and is three-over par for the tournament.
Sun Devils Fredrik Andersson, Steele Dewalt and Ryan Kelley are all playing independently in the tournament. Andersson is leading the trio tied for 26th place with even par. Dewalt is tied for 64th after carding seven-over. Kelley is in 87th place after shooting 19-over par.
The PING-Arizona Intercollegiate will resume second round play tomorrow morning and conclude with the third and final round.
