LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The Arizona State University soccer team concluded its stay in Las Vegas, Nev., Sunday afternoon with the Sun Devils closing out the UNLV Rebel Classic with their second shut out in a row, this time defeating UCF, 2-0. The victory, ASU's second in a row, moves the team's record to 4-1-1 overall in 2006.

"These were two great results for us this weekend," Ray Leone, ASU head coach, said. "We are playing a lot better together and this very positive for this young team. Everyone has contributed this year and we have finished with results that reflect that. They deserve a rest after playing so well this weekend and picking up two more good results."

After playing 45 minutes of scoreless soccer, the Sun Devils recorded both of their goals in the second half while the defense prevented the Golden Knights from scoring to record the team's fourth shut out of the year. The Sun Devils got on the board in the 61st minute as Brittney Doty recorded her team-high third goal of the year by heading home a cross from Kylla Sjoman. The goal also give Doty her second game winning strike this season.

Then, in the 75th minute of play, Courtney Crane found the back of the net after receiving a long pass out of the midfield from Kyleyn Felts. Crane's score moved her back into a tie with Doty for the team lead in both goals (three) and points (six) on the season.

Goalkeeper Kim Bingham recorded her fourth shut out of the season and increased her career total to 13.5, the third-most in school history. Bingham recorded five saves in the contest.

The Sun Devils return to action next Friday as they head to Santa Barbara, Calif., for a 5 p.m. match at UC Santa Barbara before returning home to face Pepperdine at 5 p.m. Sunday afternoon in Tempe.
