TEMPE, Ariz. - The #12 Arizona State Sun Devils defeated the University of Washington Huskies, 8-7, in 11 innings Sunday at Winkles Field-Packard Stadium at Brock Ballpark in Tempe. The Devils improved their record to 25-10, 4-2 in Pac-10 play. J.J. Sferra's eleventh inning single proved to be the difference maker.

Eric Sogard was 3-6 and Willy Fox had two RBI to help lead the Devil's to a 2-1 series victory.

The Huskies began the scoring with two runs in the top of the third inning. The Devils battled back as Fox hit a single to center field, scoring Sogard, cutting the lead to one.

Washington added another run in the fourth to make it 3-1, but the Devils answered back with a double to left field by CJ Retherford, bringing home Matt Hall.

The Huskies increased their lead to 6-2, scoring two runs in the fifth and one more in the top of the sixth. Colin Curtis cut the lead to one with his three-run home run to right field. Fox tied the game when he reached on a fielder's choice, scoring Brett Wallace.

The Huskies took the lead back in the eighth, scoring one run to make it 7-6. Fox led off the ninth with a double down the right line. After a strike out and a walk, Seth Dhaenens hit a single up the middle scoring Fox and sending the game into extra innings.

After Brett Bordes pitched a scoreless tenth and eleventh, the Devils started a rally in the bottom of the eleventh. Preston Paramore singled to start the inning, then moved to second on a sac bunt by Frank Mesa. Dhaenens came up big again, moving Paramore to third with a single deep in the hole at second. That brought up Sferra who singled through the left side to bring home Paramore for the Devils' 8-7 win over the Huskies.

ASU remains home for Pac-10 action this week against the USC Trojans. The three game series starts Thursday, April 13th at 7 PM.
