TEMPE, Ariz. - The Arizona State University track and field team posted another solid weekend of results with seven of its members recording marks that gained them entrance into the NCAA West Region meet next month as individuals competed at both the Arizona International in Tucson and the Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif.

At Stanford, Rachel Ellison clocked a 4:22.46 to finish fifth in her heat and fifth overall in the 1,500m run to earn a regional berth while Jessie McLaughlin also earned a spot in the regional race with a mark of 4:25.07 to finish fifth in her heat and 16th overall. Her marks also ranks as the ninth-fastest in ASU history.

In Tucson, five women's marks and two men's surpassed the regional standard to pace the Sun Devils in a small meet at Arizona. Latosha Wallace won the 400m dash in a regional time of 54.47 while Jerry Jones qualified in the men's 400m dash in 47.25. In the field, April Kubishta cleared 3.95m to move into second on the all-time ASU list while Cara Walker cleared 3.80m to also qualify for the regional meet.

In the discus, Jessica Pressley won the event for the women with a regional mark of 53.73m while Sarah Stevens improved to seventh on the all-time list with a regional mark of 53.98m. Tomas Navarro rounded out the regional qualifiers as he tossed the discus 51.94m.

The Sun Devils will travel to the Austin, Texas, for the Texas Relays next weekend.
