FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - Seven women and 10 men competed for the Arizona State University track and field program at the Southwest Invitational Saturday in Flagstaff, Ariz., with three women earning NCAA provisional consideration for the national meet just three weeks away.

For the women, Jacquelyn Johnson tied for first in the high jump with an NCAA provisional clearance of 1.81m to improve her standing on the national lists while Stephanie Garnett did the same in the long jump competition as she won the event with a mark of 6.28m. The third provisional was attained by April Kubishta in the pole vault as she won the event with a clearance of 4.08m.

Overall, four women's marks and three men's marks finished in the Top 3 of their respective events. For the men, Joshua Kinnaman ran the fifth-fastest 60m hurdles time in school history at 8.33 (8.37 with altitude adjustment) to finish third in the event while Ryan Zimmerman also took the bronze in the triple jump with a mark of 15.10m. For the women, the final Top 3 finish came from runner-up Cara Walker in the pole vault at 3.81m.

Arizona State will send several athletes to Seattle next weekend to compete in the 2006 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Indoor Championships, set for Feb. 24-25, inside the Dempsey Indoor Facility on the Washington campus.
