PALO ALTO, Calif. - After opening the season on a four-game winning streak, the No. 16 Arizona State University suffered its second loss in a row, this time dropping a 14-5 decision to No. 1 UCLA in the final of three round robin games at the Stanford Invitational Saturday in Palo Alto, Calif. The loss dropped the Sun Devils to 4-2 on the season while the Bruins remained perfect at 6-0.

The defending national champions jumped out to an early 5-1 lead after the first seven minutes of play and did not look back as they increased their lead to 7-1 at halftime. The Sun Devils scored twice in each of the final two quarters of play, but the Bruins score four in the third and third in fourth for the final margin of 14-5.

Five different Sun Devils scored in the game, including Ashley Bower (Jr., Bondi Beach, Australia), Addison Doud (Fr., Laguna Beach, Calif.), Katy Lawlor (El Segundo, Calif.), Rowie Webster (Fr., Melboune, Australia) and Lindsay Williams (Jr., Long Beach, Calif.). Goalie Caylinn Wallace (So., Laguna Hills, Calif.) recorded eight saves in the game.

The Sun Devils close out the Stanford Invitational Sunday afternoon when they face No. 7 Michigan for seventh place.
