BERKELEY, California (Ticker) - Alexis Gray-Lawson led four players in double figures with 23 points as California started fast and held on for a 66-64 victory over No. 13 Arizona State.

The Golden Bears (13-5, 5-3 Pac-10) shot nearly 60 percent (16-of-27) from the floor in the first half to claim a 36-24 lead at the break. They made only 10-of-19 (53 percent) free throws in the second half as the Sun Devils charged back before falling short.

Devanei Hampton finished with 17 points and 14 rebounds but had eight of Cal's 24 turnovers. Ashley Walker also had a double-double with 10 and 10 and Jene Morris chipped in 11 and six.

The Golden Bears had only 12 assists, made just one 3-pointer and did not get one point from their bench. However, they held a 45-35 rebounding advantage and limited Arizona State's starters to a combined 25 points on 10-of-33 shooting.

The Sun Devils (14-4, 5-3) got 39 points from their bench, including 19 from Amy Denson and 14 from Danielle Orsillo. They have lost three of five after a nine-game winning streak.
