EUGENE, Ore. - Seniors Ashley Richards and Erin Goodell drove in all three runs and pitcher Amy Harris tossed a three-hit shutout as the University of Oregon softball team (29-19, 5-10 Pac-10) defeated the Arizona State Sun Devils (28-19, 3-12 Pac-10), 3-0, in front of 407 fans at Howe Field Sunday afternoon.

One day after going 17 innings with Sun Devils and falling 2-1, Oregon came back on Sunday and took the first lead of the game on Richards' two-RBI double in the sixth inning. Richards drove in freshman Lovena Chaput, who had singled to lead off the inning, and shortstop Breanne Sabol, who reached on a fielder's choice. Junior Beth Boskovich walked later in the inning and scored on an RBI single up the middle by Goodell to give the Ducks the 3-0 lead.

ASU had two good scoring changes in the third and fifth innings, but left runners stranded on second and third in both innings.

It was all Oregon needed as Amy Harris (14-10) came back in the seventh inning and shut down Arizona State's offense. After second baseman Jen McCard reached on an Oregon error, Harris struck out Sharee Zaleski, Rhiannon Baca and Michelle Smith to end the game.

Katie Burkhart (10-11) took the loss, allowing four hits, three runs (two earned) with four strikeouts. Desiree Serrano pitched the final inning allowing two hits and striking out one.

Ashley Werschky, Baca and Smith had all three hits for ASU, including Baca's double.

Up next, ASU returns back to Farrington Stadium for its last home games of the regular season as they host Washington on Friday at 7:00 p.m.
