TEMPE, Ariz. - Six members of the Arizona State University track and field team headed to the Stanford Invitational Friday evening in Palo Alto, Calif., and returned to Tempe with very solid times, including one school record and four other marks good enough to make the ASU all-time Top 10 list. Three runners also earned an automatic berth into the NCAA Outdoor Championships later in the season for their performances in the 10,000m run.

In the longest distance event on the track, Amy Hastings and Victoria Jackson for the women and Casey Burchill for the men each posted marks that met the standards for an automatic bid to nationals. Hastings finished fourth in the race with a school-record time of 33:19.32 while Jackson, who placed 19th in the same race, clocked in at 34:04.52. Jackson's mark is the fourth-fastest recorded in ASU track history. For Hastings, the school record is her second this year as she also established the top mark in the indoor 5,000m run.

Burchill also ran in the fast section of the 10,000m event and finished 13th overall at 28:54.63 to punch his ticket to the national event in Sacramento, Calif. His mark is the second-fastest in school history and improves his personal top time by nearly one minute as his old standard was 29:48.62 recorded a year ago.

Ryan Warrenburg and Anna Masinelli each earned regional qualification in the 3,000m steeplechase event, as did Desiree Davila in the women's 5,000m run. Warrenburg shaved 10 seconds off his personal best and finished the race at 8:46.25 to finish third in the race. His time is good enough to vault him up the ASU lists to fourth. Masinelli clocked in a 10:32.74 in the women's race to finish eighth in the race while also recording the fifth-fastest time in school history. Davila, competing in her senior campaign, finished 15th in the 5K at 16:32.15 to qualify for the NCAA West Region Championships.

The Sun Devils are set to host their third home meet of the season, the ASU Invitational, on Saturday inside Sun Angel Stadium. The throwing events start at 9 a.m. with the women's hammer throw while the running events get under way at 6 p.m. with the women's 100m hurdles.
