TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - Kevin Kruger scored 13 of his 16 points in the second half as Arizona State stayed undefeated, beating Cal-Santa Barbara 73-57 Monday night.

Krueger hit a 3-pointer and a 15-footer to start a 9-0 run for the Sun Devils (3-0) that opened up a 50-40 lead with 9:02 left.

The Gauchos (2-2) never got closer than seven points from there.

Anti Atuahene, wearing a mask to protect a broken nose suffered in a preseason practice, had 15 points and nine rebounds for Arizona State.

Bryson Krueger finished with 11 points, including the other four points during the key second-half run.

The Sun Devils made eight of 12 free throws in the final three minutes to secure the victory.

Cecil Brown scored 14 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead Cal-Santa Barbara, who had tied the score at 29 at halftime.

But the Gauchos made just 21 of 60 shots from the field, missing nine of their last 14 attempts as they lost their second straight game.
