Tournament Bracket and draws for Day Three

With two days of the 11th annual ASU/Thunderbird Invitational women's tennis tournament complete, ASU's Rebecca Rankin (Purley, , ) will face Jessica Shu of in the tournament's final round on Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. MST. Doubles action, as well as singles consolation draws will also take place beginning at 8:30 a.m.
Trailing in the quarterfinals after losing the first set, Rankin battled back to defeat Cal's Marion Ravelojaona, the tournament's number eight seed, in the tiebreaker of the third set, winning 2-6, 6-1, 7-6(5). Rankin reached the final round after defeating 's Nina Yaftali in the semifinals.
Battling from behind again after dropping the first set to Yaftali, Rankin did not trail again in either of the last two sets, winning 6-3 and 6-2 to advance. Yaftali defeated ASU's Kady Pooler () 7-6 (3), 7-6 (5) earlier in the day to advance to the match with Rankin.
ASU junior Roxanne Clarke (Cape Town, South Africa) fell short of the final round, falling to Shu 6-2, 7-6 (8). Clarke played Shu evenly following the first set and rallied to send the second set into a tiebreaker. However, Clarke was unable to win the set, falling on the eighth point of the tiebreaker to Shu and sending her to face Rankin in the final.
