  • All-Time Series vs. Washington: The Sun Devils earned their second straight victory over the Huskies with the 44-20 victory on Saturday. ASU also won the last meeting between the two schools, 27-16 in 2002. The Sun Devils and Huskies have now met four straight games at Sun Devil Stadium dating back to the 1999 meet at Husky Stadium in Seattle (28-7 ASU victory). UW maintains the lead in the all-time series 15-10 dating back to the first meeting in 1975 (35-12 ASU win).
  • Homecoming Record: With the 44-20 victory, Arizona State improves to 56-17-3 all-time on Homecoming. ASU has now won 16 of its last 21 Homecoming contests, including two in a row. The Devils defeated Stanford 34-31 on Homecoming last year on a TD pass from Andrew Walter to Matt Miller with nine seconds left in the game. ASU also beat UW on Homecoming in the last meeting between the two schools, 27-16 on Oct. 26, 2002 at Sun Devil Stadium.
  • Matt Miller's Big Game: Senior wide receiver Matt Miller proves he likes playing on Homecoming. After catching two TD passes last season on Homecoming against Stanford (including the game-winner), Miller caught three more tonight vs. UW. Miller recorded his third career 100-yard receiving game, catching five passes for a career-high 139 yards and three touchdowns. He becomes the first Sun Devil since teammate Derek Hagan also scored three last season against UCLA. The school record is four set by Shaun McDonald (twice) and John Allen. Miller has now caught five TD's on the season (tied for 2nd on the team) and has caught 17 passes for 392 yards (49.0 avg. per game).

  • Hagan's Highlights: Senior wide receiver Derek Hagan extended his school record with his 17th career 100-yard receiving game. With nine catches, Hagan also moved into third place in the Pac-10 career record books with 236 career catches. He now has caught a pass in 37 straight games and at least one pass in 44 of 46 career games in his career. Against Washington, Hagan hauled in nine passes for 115 yards (12.8 avg.).   • Carpenter's First Career Start: Redshirt freshman QB Rudy Carpenter had a banner first career start, completing 79% of his passes (27-for-34) for a career-high 401 yards and three touchdowns. The 401 yards are the second most in school history by a freshman quarterback. The school record is 432 set by Jeff Krohn vs. Oregon in 2000. The .794 completion percentage also sets the school record for the 31-40 attempts criteria (previous record was .771 - 27-for-35 by Krohn vs. SDSU in 2001). Over the last two games, Carpenter is 46-for-59 (78%) for 705 yards and six touchdowns.

  • Richardson's Returns: Junior wide receiver/return specialist Terry Richardson had another solid game. Richardson caught three passes for 24 yards and returned three kickoffs for 110 yards (36.7 avg.). He also had one punt return for 21 yards. For the season, Richardson is among the NCAA leaders averaging 30.4 yards on his 13 kickoff returns (395 total yards).
  • Golden-Robinson Fumble Connection: Seniors Josh Golden and Dale Robinson combined for a stellar defensive game to lead the Devils to the victory. Robinson led the team with nine tackles (6 solo) and Golden was second with eight tackles (7 solo). Golden force a pair of fumbles and on each occasion, Robinson recovered. Golden also recorded his second interception of the year (5th career) and returned it 58 yards for a TD as time expired in the game.
  • Depleted Offensive Line: With the injury to junior left guard Stephen Berg, ASU was left with only one interior offensive lineman that was a starter earlier in the season. Andrew Carnahan, Leo Talavou, Grayling Love and Zach Krula also did not play due to injuries. ASU has started nine different players on the offensive line this season.
  • Series Trend of Sacks: In ASU's last game against Washington in 2002, the Sun Devil defense recorded eight sacks for -67 yard. Current Baltimore Raven All-Pro Terrell Suggs recorded a dominating performance with 12 tackles (5 solo) and 6.5 sacks (-44 yards). This season, it was a reversal of fortunes as the Huskies totaled seven sacks for -54 yards. Greyson Gunheim (2.5 sacks) and Joe Lobendahn (2.0 sacks) each recorded multi-sack contests.
  • Third-Down Efficiency: The Sun Devils were 10-for-15 on third-down conversions (.667) and continued a season trend that has put them second in the Pac-10 heading into today's game. For the season, ASU has converted 59-of-121 (49%) third-down opportunities.
  • On Fire in the Red Zone: ASU was a perfect 5-for-5 in the red zone vs. the Huskies (4 TD, 1 FG). ASU has been solid in the red zone this season, scoring on 86.5% of their opportunities in the red zone this season (28 TD, 4 FG). Over the last two games, ASU is a perfect 9-for-9 in the red zone and over the last four games is 15-for-17 (88%).
  • Sun Devil Notes: QB Rudy Carpenter scored his first career TD with a one-yard keeper in the first quarter... ASU's 24 first-half points are the most since scoring 38 in a 52-21 win over Northwestern (9/17/05) earlier this season... kicker Jesse Ainsworth recorded a 50-yard punt on his first career punt as a Sun Devil... Ainsworth also placed a punt inside Washington's 15-yard line on his second career punt... Preston Jones caught his first pass of the season in the fourth quarter, becoming the 18th Sun Devil to catch a pass this season... senior LB Jamar Williams recorded his team-leading third interception this season and eighth of his career... he also had three as a junior last season... sophomore tailback Preston Jones recorded the second-most carries (12) and yards (45) in his career... Rudy Burgess led ASU with 67 yards rushing on 19 carries (3.5 avg.).
