Led by Freshman Azahara Munoz, the Arizona State University women's golf team finished in sixth place at the Mason Rudolph Women's Championship, which was held Sept. 23-25 at the par 72, 7,200-yard Vanderbilt Legends Club in Franklin, Tenn.
ASU carded a 24-over 312 in Sunday's final round for a three-day total of 914. Duke won the tournament with a three-round total of 878. Georgia, Arkansas, UCLA, and Auburn all placed above Arizona State, respectively.
Individually, Munoz carded a three-over 75 on Sunday to finish in fifth at one-over 217 (70-72-75) in her first outing as a Sun Devil.
Freshman Jennifer Osborn tied for eighth place, her best finish as a Sun Devil, with a four-over 220 (75-71-74), while Junior Lindsay Anderson shot a 13-over 229 (77-72-80) to tie for 35th. Junior Tiffany Tavee finished in a tie for 51st after carding a 17-over 233 (72-77-84). ASU Senior Alissa Kuczka finished the tournament with an 18-over 234 (70-81-83) to tie for 57th.
Amanda Blumenherst of Duke won individual medalist honors after shooting an eight-under 208 (69-71-68).
ASU returns to action for the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational, Oct. 10-12, which will be held at Sahalee Golf and Country Club in Redmond, Wash.
