NORTHRIDGE, Calif. (www.TheSunDevils.com) -- Arizona State junior outside hitter Nicole Morton posted her third double-double in as many matches with 11 kills and 11 digs, but it wasn't enough as the Sun Devils endured a three-game sweep at the hands of the UNLV Rebels Saturday afternoon in the Fremont Investment & Loan Invitational hosted by Cal State Northridge.

The Rebels swept the Sun Devils by scores of 30-24, 30-24 and 31-29. ASU falls to 1-2 on the season and will continue on the road next weekend with matches against Notre Dame and nationally ranked Texas in South Bend, Ind.

Morton (Fallbrook, Calif.) tallied her 10th career double-double and finished the weekend averaging 3.55 kills per game (39 total). Junior outside hitter Nina Reeves (Gilbert, Ariz.) added a season-high eight kills on a .333 hitting percentage (8-1-21) and sophomore middle blocker Staci Smith (Gresham, Ore. ) and freshman outside hitter Margie Giordano (Glendale, Ariz.) each contributed six kills.

Sophomore libero Sydney Donahue (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) anchored the ASU defense with 15 digs.

UNLV sophomore middle blocker Lauren Miramontes led all players with 16 kills on an efficient .351 hitting percentage. Junior outside hitter Michelle Banks added a double-double with 13 kills and 19 digs to lead the Rebels to their first victory of the season.
