TEMPE, Ariz. (www.TheSunDevils.com) -- Arizona State senior catcher Tuffy Gosewisch went 3-for-5 with four RBI to lead the No. 24 Sun Devils to a 11-3 series clinching victory over the Wright State Raiders on Saturday evening at Winkles Field at Packard Stadium.

The Sun Devils won their season-high fourth straight game to improve to 20-13 overall and have won 14 of their last 18 games. Wright State dropped its third straight contest to fall to 10-12 overall and 0-3 all-time against ASU.

Gosewisch (Scottsdale, Ariz.) led four players who tallied multi-hit games by recording his fifth game this season with three or more hits. The senior backstop also extended his hitting streak to six games and overtook the team batting at .357 (46-for-129). Sophomore Seth Dhaenens (Chandler, Ariz.) continued his hot hitting streak going 3-for-3 with one RBI. Leadoff hitter Rocky Laguna (Yuma, Ariz.) went 2-for-2 with three runs scored and reached base safely in each of his five plate appearances. Senior Joey Hooft (Reno, Nev.), who made his first start of the season in left field, added two hits and a pair of RBI in the win.

Sophomore starting pitcher Pat Bresnehan (Sherborn, Mass.) tied his career high with seven strikeouts and limited the Raiders to five hits and two runs in five innings. The reigning Pac-10 Pitcher of the Week won his second straight start to improve to 3-2 on the season. Junior reliever Tony Barnette (Federal Way, Wash.) threw two scoreless frames and freshman right-hander Seth Garrison (Coppell, Texas) closed out the victory giving up one run and striking out three over the final two innings.

Wright State junior starter Chris Snyder was roughed up for 10 hits and eight runs in 2.2 innings. He struck out two and walked three to fall to 1-4 on the season. Relievers Nate Stevens and Joe Smith combined to strike out the last six over the final two innings.

The Sun Devils jumped out the early lead with three runs in the bottom of the third inning. Gosewisch started the scoring with a one-out single to score Laguna from third base. ASU added two more runs on run-scoring singles by Hooft and Dhaenens.

Wright State got a pair of runs in the second and third innings to pull to within one run at 3-2, but the Sun Devils pulled ahead for good with a six-run third inning to extend the lead to 9-2. Senior first baseman Jeff Larish led off with a single to center field and scored on sharp single to left field by Hooft. After Hooft was caught stealing, ASU mounted a two-out rally with four straight singles to score three runs. Gosewisch provided the final blow of the frame with a two-run double off the left field fence.

Wright State was out-hit 13-7 in the contest and had seven different players record at least one hit. Second baseman Brendan Rubenstein, pinch-hitter David Kapka and first baseman Paul Majestic each drove in a run.

The Sun Devils and Raiders complete the three-game non-conference series Sunday at 1 p.m. at Packard Stadium. ASU senior right-hander Jason Urquidez (4-2, 4.83 ERA) will go against WSU ace Robert Barrett (3-2, 2.82 ERA).

Game Notes: Senior catcher Tuffy Gosewisch extended his hitting streak to six games by recording his 13th multi-hit game of the year... Gosewisch is hitting .481 (13-for-27) with eight runs and 12 RBI during the steak... for the season, Gosewisch leads the team in hitting (.357), RBI (38) and hit-by-pitch (7)... redshirt freshman Rocky Laguna continues to be a sparkplug for the Sun Devils at the top of the lineup... ASU improved to 8-0 when Laguna hits leadoff... The Yuma native extended his hitting streak to a career-high five games by going 2-for-2 (2 BB , HBP) and his hitting .333 (23-for-69) on the season... during his five-game hitting streak Laguna is hitting .444 (8-for-18) with three doubles and eight runs scored... ASU scored in the first inning for the 12th time this season and are 9-3 when scoring in the opening frame... sophomore Seth Dhaenens recorded his third multi-hit game of the year and over the last 11 games he is hitting .419 (13-for-31) to raise his batting average from .071 to the current mark of .311... freshman J.J. Sferra recorded a hit in his fourth straight game... eight of ASU's 11 runs came with two outs, continuing a trend that has seen the Sun Devils score 46% (113 of 248) of their runs with two outs... starting pitcher Pat Bresnehan tied his career high with seven strikeouts... it was the fourth time he has registered seven K's in a game, but the first time as a starter.
